Better Today LLC ยท Effective date: [EFFECTIVE DATE]
1. Who we are
Better Today LLC ("Better Today," "we," "us") is an independent driver recruiting company. We help commercial drivers, including experienced CDL-A drivers and new CDL graduates, connect with trucking companies ("carriers") that are hiring. We are not a carrier and we are not your employer.
This policy explains what information we collect, how we use and share it, and the choices you have. It applies to our website, our Facebook and Instagram pages and lead forms, and our phone calls, text messages and emails with drivers.
Better Today LLC, 1309 Coffeen Avenue STE 1200, Sheridan, WY 82801. Phone: (307) 218-3831. Email: recruiting@drivebettertoday.com.
2. Information we collect
Information you give us. Your name, phone number and email address; your ZIP code, city and state; your CDL class and endorsements; your months of tractor-trailer experience; what you are looking for (for example home time, pay type, freight, sign-on bonus); work and driving history you choose to tell us (for example accidents or violations in the last three years) so we can match you with carriers whose requirements you meet; the content of your messages and calls with us; and notes our recruiters write about our conversations.
Voice messages and resumes. If you record a voice message or upload a resume on our website, we receive the recording or file and anything you say or write in it. We use it only to understand your experience and what you are looking for, to match you with jobs and to prepare for our call with you. We share a resume with a carrier only after you agree to apply for a specific job with that carrier. We do not share voice recordings with carriers, advertisers or anyone else except the service providers that store them for us. Please do not include your Social Security number, driver's license number, date of birth or medical details in a recording or resume. We delete voice recordings within 12 months after our last contact with you, or sooner if you ask.
Information from lead forms. When you submit a lead form on Facebook or Instagram, Meta passes the answers you submit to us, including information Meta pre-fills from your profile if you choose to share it.
Information collected automatically. Your IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, the ad or website that sent you to us, and the date and time of your visit, collected through cookies, pixels and similar technologies (see section 5).
What we do not ask for. We do not ask for your Social Security number, bank account or payment card numbers, driver's license number, medical records or passwords. Please do not send them to us. Carriers collect the information they need for hiring (such as background checks and DOT medical exams) through their own applications.
3. How we use information
- To contact you by phone, text and email about the driving jobs you asked about, to schedule calls and to follow up.
- To match you with carriers and hiring programs whose requirements you meet.
- To introduce you to carriers, and to submit your information to them, only after we tell you which carrier or carriers and you agree.
- To run and improve our website and ads, measure how they perform, and prevent fraud and abuse.
- To keep business records and to comply with the law.
- To record calls for quality and record keeping (see section 8).
4. How we share information
Carriers and hiring partners. We share your information with the carriers, and with recruiting partners that help carriers hire, that you ask us to introduce you to, so they can review your application.
Service providers. We use companies that help us run our business, such as phone and text messaging services, customer relationship management and scheduling tools, email, cloud hosting, analytics and advertising platforms (including Meta). They process information on our behalf and only as we instruct.
Legal and safety. We may disclose information when required by law, to respond to legal requests, to protect the rights, property or safety of our drivers, our business or others, or to prevent fraud.
Business changes. If we are involved in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
We do not sell your personal information for money. We do not share your mobile phone number or text-message opt-in information with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing or promotional purposes. Sharing your information with a carrier you asked us to introduce you to is not sharing for marketing.
5. Cookies, pixels and advertising
We use cookies and similar technologies, including the Meta Pixel, to understand how visitors use our site, to measure our ads and to show our ads to people who may be interested in driving jobs. Under some state privacy laws this may be considered "sharing" for targeted advertising. Analytics and advertising cookies load only after you accept them in our cookie notice. You can also adjust your ad settings in Facebook or Instagram, use the opt-outs at optout.aboutads.info or optout.networkadvertising.org, or send a Global Privacy Control signal from your browser. See also our Your Privacy Choices page.
6. Your choices and rights
Texts. Reply STOP to any text message and we will stop texting you. Calls. Tell us you do not want to be called and we will add you to our internal do-not-contact list. Email. Use the unsubscribe link or contact us.
Access, correction and deletion. You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it. Contact us at the phone number or email above. We may need to verify your identity first.
State privacy rights. Depending on where you live (for example California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Texas, Oregon and other states) you may have the right to know and access the personal information we collect, to correct or delete it, to receive a copy, and to opt out of targeted advertising, sales and certain profiling. We respond within the time the law requires, generally 45 days. If we decline a request, you may appeal by replying to our decision. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights. You may use an authorized agent.
California residents. In the past 12 months we collected these categories of personal information: identifiers (name, phone number, email, IP address); professional and employment-related information (CDL class, experience, work history); and internet or network activity (pages viewed, ad clicks). We collected them from you and from Meta lead forms, for the business purposes in section 3, and disclosed them to the categories of recipients in section 4.
7. How long we keep information
We keep your information as long as we need it to provide recruiting services, keep business and tax records, resolve disputes and meet legal obligations. Typically this is 24 months after our last contact with you, after which we delete or de-identify it.
8. Call recording
We may record calls and keep transcripts to train our team, check quality and keep records. We tell you at the beginning of the call. If you do not want to be recorded, tell us and we will stop recording or continue by text. Some states require everyone on a call to consent to recording; by continuing the call after our notice, you consent.
9. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Children
Our services are for adults 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
11. Other websites
Our pages may link to carriers, Meta and other sites. Their privacy practices are their own.
